A part of being a food lover member is getting closer to the people who provide our regional fine foods, getting to know our producers and seeing how they are able to create some of the stunning examples of their craft. nwfinefood organise a series of foodie events and meetings throughout the year specifically for food lover members, to both learn and enjoy.

34 Food lover members met up at Munx Bakery in Staveley Cumbria to exchange views, eat(a lot) and learn about successful bread making.The evening pictured below was hosted by Steven Doherty one of NW Fine Food Patrons who fed everyone with charcuterie and chocolate tart with lemon and mint, Peter Paprill then talked members through a selection of cheeses with plenty to taste alongside some delicious Italian wines.

Aiden Monks of Munx Bakery gave members tours of his new bakery including a fantastic new wood burning oven that everyone was fascinated by, he has even planted a wood so that he can become self sufficient. We learnt about sour dough, flours and proving and one member even left with a starter for her own sour dough bread.

Lucy Cooks next door was open for visitors  and members were able to have a look round. Every one had a fantastic evening in spite of the terrible weather. Members came from Cumbria as well as further afield.
